No. Every digest is computed entirely in your browser.

MD5 is cryptographically broken for security use, but it still has real, legitimate non-security uses - matching a checksum a system or a tutorial still publishes in MD5. This tool includes it for that reason, not to recommend it for anything sensitive.

SHA-256 produces a longer digest and has no known practical way to find a collision; MD5 is shorter and collisions are easy to construct on purpose. Use SHA-256 for anything that matters, and treat MD5 as a legacy checksum only.
